Red Flag Warning in effect through 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Albany has declared a Red Flag Warning from noon to 6 p.m., Thurs., Apr. 24, for high winds and low humidity for much of eastern New York and adjacent western New England. The affected area includes the Berkshires, northwest Connecticut, the eastern Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley and the greater Capital Region. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts from 30 to 40 mph are expected, with a relative humidity level of less than 25 percent. A Red Flag Warning means that dangerous fire conditions are expected. Any fire that develop may quickly get of control and become difficult to contain.
