NY state, local races on ballot Tuesday

The Daily Freeman is reporting voters head to the polls Tues., Sept. 9, to pick the Democratic candidates for governor and lieutenant governor and also the candidates in several local elections. In the governor’s race, incumbent Andrew Cuomo is being challenged by Zephyr Teachout, a law professor at Fordham University, and comedian Randy Credico. Cuomo’s running mate, Kathy Hochul (HOKE-ul), is being challenged in the primary for lieutenant governor by Tim Wu, who is Teachout’s running mate. In Greene County, Independence Party voters in the town of Catskill will pick a candidate to run for town judge. The candidates are Rick Jacobs and Laura Krzeminski. Jacobs already has the Republican Party nomination, while Krzeminski has the Democratic Party line. In Columbia County, a Conservative party primary will be held in the 102nd Assembly District, as well as Working Families and Independence primaries in the 107th Assembly District. Polls are open noon to 9 p.m.
