Audrey Matott reports in the Greenville Pioneer that the Town of Durham will updates its update Comprehensive Plan, after Councilperson Jerry Cunningham raised the issue at the last two meetings. “I am very determined that we need to do something and really get on the ball and do something,” said Cunningham. “We have a lot of things starting to face our town, solar is becoming a big issue, we have a lot of people dealing with recreational activities in the town and there are other things, I think the Comprehensive Plan really needs to be updated.” Supervisor Shawn Marriott will appoint town officials and residents to a committee to update the plan. “It is definitely something we need to look into,” said Marriott. “There are a lot of things coming into the town that we should be able to have something to mitigate the changes going on here.” Read the full story in the Greenville Pioneer.
