Hudson to form a tourist board

Feb 15, 2018 6:45 am

Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the city of Hudson is forming a tourism board, an idea originally introduced during Mayor Tiffany Martin Hamilton’s administration. The mayor and the Common Council will each appoint four people, for a total of eight members. The board will be chaired by the head of the Council's Economic Development Committee, currently 4th Ward Alderman Rich Volo, and report to Common Council President Tom DePietro. “What I would like to see is the tourism board act as a liaison between government, businesses and the community,” Volo said. The nine-member board will use lodging tax funds to promote the city. Hudson Common Council will vote on the local law to amend the city code and establish the tourism board, 7 p.m., February 20, at City Hall, 520 Warren Street, Hudson. Note: DePietro is an active WGXC volunteer programmer. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
