a href="https://www.facebook.com/chris.tague.14/">Assemblymember Chris Tague is calling on Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to add more representatives to the Reimagine Education Advisory Council. Tague composed a letter on the subject with his Republican colleagues, according to a May 18, press release. Assembly Republicans believe a special education expert is needed on the council, as a way to make it more effective in addressing the issues facing residents with special needs. The transition to remote learning necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted students with special needs in many ways, according to Tague's statement. He said "that rather than working with billionaires to make grand reforms to our education system, we should be focusing on the needs of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic."
