The Daily Freeman reports that four corrections officers were assaulted by a Coxsackie Correctional Facility inmate Dec. 5. Daquan Monroe, 21, just three days sort of his scheduled release date, was charged with four felony counts of assault, according to state police, who did not identify the corrections officers involved, or provide the details about their medical conditions. Monroe is being transferred to Green Haven Correctional Facility in Beekman, Dutchess County. His four-year sentence for criminal possession of a weapon and attempted robbery was set to end Dec. 8.
