Part of Route 23A will be closed next week

Sep 13, 2018 7:00 am
The Daily Freeman is reporting the New York State Department of Transportation has announced it will close to vehicles a three-and-a-half-mile portion of state Route 23A between Haines Falls and Palenville, from Mon., Sep. 17, until Mon., Sep. 24. As a result, the state parking lot on Route 23A that allows access to the trail to the base of Kaaterskill Falls will be inaccessible during that time. Hikers can access the upper trails to the Kaaterskill Falls overlook by following state detour signs that lead back to Route 23A in Hunter via state routes 32, 23 and 296. The current construction status and additional information, visit the New York State Department of Transportation website at DOT [dot] NY [dot] gov. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
