Jacob Day with Ally Roofing said, “If you leave the snow on your car, it’s going to eventually ice over. It’s really not healthy for your home and it’s something you want to get on top of.” Heavy loads of ice and snow left untouched can create serious problems, such as ice dams. Preventing ice dams will help to stop leaks and damage to the inside of a structure. Removing snow will also eliminate excess weight that could cause a roof collapse if it is left in place. Experts advise the most effective way to remove snow is through raking, shoveling, or through the use of heat cables. "I mean those snow rakes are good if you have a one-story home.
