Apr 08, 2019 12:12 am
Ayla Ferrone reports for News10 Albany that Rep. Antonio Delgado and Rep. Paul Tonko toured the Dewey Loeffel Landfill Superfund site April 5 with Nassau Town Supervisor Dave Fleming after new environmental contamination was discovered this week five miles away. That new contamination off Route 203 is believed to be related to Loeffel operations decades ago. The Dewey Loeffel site was declared a superfund in 1980. Fleming wants federal help to restore clean water in Rensselaer County. Tonko chairs Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee in the House of Representatives.
