Independence Day events continue

The Daily Freeman is reporting some communities throughout the region will host parades and fireworks displays, among other activities, to celebrate Independence Day, even after July 4. Some of today's events are as follows:
Catskill: Fireworks will be shot off at dusk Sat., July 5, on West Main St., near Bridge Street, in the village.
Durham: A parade will step off at 11 a.m. Sat., July 5, and travel down Main Street (state Route 145) from Golden Hill Road to the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre. Fireworks will be at dusk.
Saugerties: Fireworks postponed from July 4 are rescheduled to be shot off at dusk.
Tannersville: A parade will step off from the car wash on Main Street at 3 p.m. Sat., July 5, and travel to the Village Hall and firehouse. Refreshments will be provided at the firehouse. Additionally, there will be music and craft vendors on Main Street from noon to 4 p.m., followed by a blues concert at 4 p.m. at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center. Also, a display of the area’s history will be exhibited at the Village Hall.
