For the first day of spring we will look at the radio news headlines, plus some of the radio-related workshops and panel discussions at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, last weekend. The show will also track the reaction, after the weekend when "This American Life" announced they were retracting an episode with monologist Mike Daisey. who made up facts in his story on the radio show. Plus, we will debut new transmission art from Dichroics, a Brooklyn-based band that includes former The Dust Dive frontman Bryan Zimmerman and his radio samples, and Darin Mickey on theremin. A dichroic filter, thin-film filter, or interference filter is a very accurate color filter used to selectively pass light of a small range of colors while reflecting other colors. Used before a light source, a dichroic filter produces light that is perceived by humans to be highly saturated (intense) in color.
