Haines appointed to Hunter-Tannersville board

Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail the Hunter-Tannersville Board of Education has appointed Haines Falls resident Erika Haines as the board’s fifth board member. Haines was the unanimous choice made at a meeting Thurs., Aug. 22. Haines will replace long-term board member Brian Byrne. The appointment was effective Sun., Aug. 25, and will run until May 2014. During the same meeting, Byrne bid farewell to the board and the school community and received a standing ovation from those in attendance. Superintendent Patrick Darfler-Sweeney noted Byrne’s dedication and thanked him for his “sage guidance” as a board member. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
