Hudson's First Presbyterian Church reopens

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Hudson's historic First Presbyterian Church reopened December 24, following a year of structural work to shore up the structure's roof, to prevent it from collapse. For the past year services were held at the Camphill Hudson building across Warren Street from the church. The congregation will now work to replace the standing seam metal roof at a cost of $300,000. Congregants gathered Sunday for a traditional Christmas Eve service, led by the Rev. Kathryn Beilke (BEE-il-kee) in the church's newly restored sanctuary. Beilke thanked the congregation for coming and for making the service warm and friendly. The church does not hold a service on Christmas day. Beilke wanted church members to be able to spend the day at home relaxing. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
