The Daily Freeman reports that mmployment was up in much of the WGXC listening area this past December, compared to a year ago. The state Department of Labor reported Jan. 22 that Greene County gained 500 non-farm jobs (3.4 percent), for 15,000 total, while Columbia County added 200 jobs (0.9 percent), to reach 21,500 employed. Additionally, Ulster County added 800 jobs and the statistical area that comprises Dutchess and Orange counties added 1,000. the labor department said. Read the full story in The Daily Freeman.
