Congress closer to banning own insider trading

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee moved the STOCK Act, legislation to close loopholes for any insider trading by lawmakers, through to the Senate on Wednesday, Dec. 14. New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is among the bill's sponsors, and their is similar legislation winding through committees in the U.S. House of Representatives too.
