Court lets Maloney run for Congress and New York attorney general

Chris McKenna reports at The Fray that on Aug. 23 an appeals court ruled that Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney can run both for re-election in New York’s 18th Congressional District and for state attorney general at the same time. Maloney is among four candidates running for attorney general in a Thursday, Sept. 13 primary election. At the same time, he is also on the ballot for re-election for his seat in Congress in November. Maloney says he will give up the Congressional run if he wins the attorney general primary. Orange County Legislator Jim O’Donnell, the Republican running against Maloney in the 18th District, brought the lawsuit. Read the full story at The Fray.
