Greene GOP chooses Joseph Stanzione for DA

Michael Ryan is reporting in The Daily Mail the Greene County Republican Committee has endorsed Athens resident Joseph Stanzione for district attorney. Stanzione was chosen during the GOP caucus held Thurs., May 29, at the county courthouse in Catskill. Stanzione was chosen over acting District Attorney Charles Bucca. Stanzione has been in private practice for 30 years, and has served for 26 years as an assistant public defender. The committee also endorsed incumbents Chris Gibson for Congress, Pete Lopez for state Assembly, Peter Markou for county treasurer, and Hassan Basagic and John Gulino for county coroner. The caucus also backed George Amedore, who is challenging incumbent Cecilia Tkaczyk for state Senate. Stanzione will face Democrat Paul Salvino, an attorney and a retired state police investigator, in November. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
