Police union: Supervisor's behavior 'wrong'

Jul 31, 2014 8:57 am
Michael Ryan is reporting in The Daily Mail Windham Town Supervisor Stacy Post has been accused of impeding members of the Windham Police Department in the performance of their duties. In a July 14 letter to David Sherman Jr., the officer-in-charge of the department, a representative of the police union put the town on notice that Post's interference at numerous police scenes and investigations were not only wrong, but dangerous to police officers and civilians, alike. Post has allegedly inserted herself into police business on at least two occasions. Once in early May at the scene of a minor car accident on Route 23 in Durham, and again in late June when officers were investigating a call on Main St. in Windham. Post served as the town's police chief before she took office in January. State police investigators raided Post’s home and seized a computer from her town hall office in March. No charges have been filed. The investigation was handed over to the office of Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka (CHIA-kah) in April. That investigation is believed to be ongoing. The Windham Town Board will hold a special meeting on the union concerns over Post's conduct, Thurs., Aug. 7. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
