Donald Drumpf Theatre, Volume 5, where the real is unreal, the fake is not true, and the real is phony too. This week, Drumpf, Kellyanne Conway, and Sean Spicer work for Russia and against Nordstrom's, with circus music playing in the background. Reporters from MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News are also included, with commentary from Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, and Seth Meyers. Will Smith as The Fresh Prince, and Lionel Hutz from "The Simpsons" make their case. And Andrew Sullivan says something, Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando are excerpted from "Apocalypse Now," and Al Pacino is quoted as "The Godfather." Schoolhouse Rock's "Three Ring Circus," Judy Collins' version of "Send in the Clowns," and Christina Aguilera's "Enter The Circus" are included, as is a version of "Closer" by The Chainsmokers with Donald Drumpf on vocals. And Steinski's latest, "Howard Zinn reads Mark Twain On Loyalty" is featured. Songs from Spike Jones ("Der Fuehrer's Face") and Pink Floyd ("The Wall") are cut up with Drumpf quotes. And Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone" is included in the opening and closing credits, with clips from the "Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits" shows, and Bill Cosby making radio noises.
Original radio theatre, and new productions from Pacifica Radio are included here, with historic radio theatre some weeks. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with a Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.
