Republicans back Molinaro for governor

Bill Mahoney reports for Politico that Republican's at their state party convention May 23 unanimously backed Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro unanimously for governor. “Government will have priorities again,” Molinaro said after winning the nomination. “People in need and things we use, like subways and bridges, streets and sidewalks, clean drinking water and treatment plants to stop pollutants. Not political donors and corporate lobbyists looking for a taxpayer handout." Molinaro will likely face Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and the winner of the Democratic primary between incumbent Andrew Cuomo and actor Cynthia Nixon in November. Molinaro used the word "compassion" speech at least eight times in his speech. “Are you ready to make compassion — real compassion — the priority again?” he asked. Read the full story in Politico.
