Kyle Wind writes in the Daily Freeman Congressman Chris Gibson and challenger Julian Schreibman disagree on elements of the federal Affordable Health Care Act. Gibson, Republican from Kinderhook, has indicated his desire to repeal and replace the health-care overhaul law, while Schreibman, Democrat from Stone Ridge, says he wants to keep the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act intact and improve it. Gibson wants to see the legislation repealed, he said, because although well-intentioned, the law is not making health care more affordable or accessible. Schreibman has said the law has allowed the nation to take steps toward realizing universal access to good, quality health care. The two men are competing in the November general election for the seat in New York's new 19th Congressional District. The district encompasses Columbia, Greene, Sullivan, Ulster, Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie counties, and parts of Montgomery, Rensselaer and Dutchess counties. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
