Keith Wofford gets GOP nod for AG
Chris Bragg is reporting at Capitol Confidential in a county by county roll call vote at the state Republican Convention May 24, Manhattan attorney Keith Wofford emerged with more than 50 percent of the vote, making him the official party designee. Wofford announced his candidacy only two days before. The runner-up, attorney Joseph Holland, received more than 25 percent of the vote, which entitled him to a place on the Republican primary ballot in September. However, Holland declined and instead endorsed Wofford. In his acceptance speech, Wofford said if elected he would tackle public corruption, education, drugs and violence. A Buffalo native, Wofford is the co-managing partner of Ropes and Gray's 320-lawyer New York office that focuses on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.
