Town of Catskill to overhaul comprehensive plan

Sarah Trafton reports for Columbia-Greene Media that the Town of Catskill plans to update its comprehensive plan, last modified in 2007. Resident Rosana Thompson, commenting on Catskill's recent growth, asked for an overhaul of the town's plan in February. “When there’s a rush to develop, the people that suffer the most are the people that have always been here,” she said. The town is not a part of the state’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, but is a Climate Smart Community. “Everything is open for review,” Supervisor Doreen Davis said. “That’s why we need to hire a professional, to bring these types of things to our attention.” Currently the towns of Hunter and Durham and village of Catskill are also evaluating their comprehensive plans.
