Harley Goodnough reports in The Greenville Pioneer that several Greenville High students are publishing their own semi-anonymous news blog called "The Macaroni Report." The name is a play off the official school newspaper's "The Maroon Report" name. The blog began when one of the organizers wrote an anonymous letter-to-the-editor to the school paper, which would not print the letter because of journalism ethics. Now, the paper continues to be the blog's whipping post. "They are the Annie's to our Kraft; too cheesy, a little overdone, and not at all colored or shaped like your cartoon character of choice," they write. One anonymous staffer says the blog is, "more 'The Onion' than 'The Daily Show,' with headlines such as, "Greenville runs out of food," and, "Greenville loses Easter."
