Hudson schools now screening visitors

Nov 20, 2018 7:15 am
The Hudson City School District is reporting at its website it has implemented a visitor screening system at each of the district's three buildings using the School Gate Guardian visitor management system. School Gate Guardian is a security program that offers "many features to protect your child from outside threats (such as sex offenders and custodial issues)," according to the district. Effective November 19, all visitors are being required to show photo identification to gain entry to Hudson school buildings. Visitors are screened upon entry using the computerized system, which compares the visitor's ID with the national sex offender registry. Once the ID is presented and scanned, a visitor badge is generated. School Gate Guardian then maintains a record of visitors admitted to the building.
