Hunting season opens Saturday

New York's hunting season begins at sunrise, 6:47 a.m. Nov. 16 for deer and black bear. Hunting continues in the southern zone through Dec. 8. Crossbow season ends locally on Nov. 15. Hunters should go to the DEC website to make sure their licenses are up to date and they are following all rules.
