The Times Union is reporting Kobe, the six-foot-long alligator, who went missing from his New Lebanon residence May 25, has returned home. However, the mystery of what happened to him remains unsolved. Rhonda Leavitt, owner of Rhonda's Reptiles, offered a $2,000 reward for Kobe's return. The reptile was reported stolen from her home. Around noon on June 2, Leavitt posted on her Facebook page, saying he had been found, but would not say how. "Thank you everyone for your prayers and putting the word out to get Kobe home, he is safe, and although everyone has a million questions, I am not at liberty to discuss the details of his return," the post read. Leavitt did not respond to a Facebook message for more information. This was not the first time Kobe disappeared. In 2013, when he was four-years-old, he took off while Leavitt was cleaning his cage. Kobe was found two weeks later in a stream near a beaver dam about a mile away. Kobe has lived with Leavitt since he emerged from his egg.
