Stephanie Miner now weighing independent gubernatorial run

Chris Bragg is reporting for the Times Union former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner may run for governor as an independent in November. The move could draw votes from fellow Democrat, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, according to Bragg. In an interview, Miner said her supporters have been talking with firms that specialize in gathering petition signatures. They have also been speaking with potential campaign volunteers. “It’s all part of the exercise of running for office,” Miner said. Speculation about a possible Miner gubernatorial run has been ongoing for more than a year.
