Jobs increase in Hudson Valley

The Mid-Hudson News reports that the state labor department reported May 16 9,000 new Hudson Valley jobs. Jobs were up 1.8 percent in Columbia County this April over last April according to the report, and one percent in Greene County. But that was lower than in other Hudson Valley counties such as Ulster, which were up 2.9 percent, and the Dutchess-Putnam counties, up 2.1 percent. Education and health services jobs grew the most in the Hudson Valley, followed by leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, natural resources, mining and construction, and financial activities.
