Cuomo stops deleting public email records

May 24, 2015 12:02 am

Deletion will now be “entirely manual,” according to Cuomo’s Counsel Alphonso David, at a "transparency" a meeting at the governor’s offices in Manhattan May 22. The governor also said he would “shortly” introduce legislation to make the application of state Freedom of Information Law, that would "bind the Legislature, the Executive, the Comptroller and the AG’s office to one standard,” David said at the meeting. But there's only 12 days left in the current legislative session, so these changes may not take effect any time soon. Read the full story in Capitol Confidential.
