Columbia County Police Reform Panel public hearing is March 8

The Columbia County Police Reform Panel will hold a public hearing Mon., March 8, to consider the county's proposed Police Reform Plan. Among the recommendations contained in the plan: the purchase and use of body cameras by all deputies at the county Sheriff's Office; the implementation of a process to ensure transparency of community complaints about law enforcement; increase efforts to address issues of racial and gender diversity in recruitment and hiring; and more. A copy of the plan can be found on the county's Police Reform Panel website. The public hearing will be held virtually beginning at 6 p.m., Mon., March 8.
