Paul Kirby reports in the Daily Freeman that a property on Route 212 in Bearsville that includes the Bearsville Theater, Bear Café, and radio station WDST has been sold for $2.5 million to a company headed by the founder of an organic baby food company from England. Lizzie Vann, with homes now in Woodstock and Florida, bought the 15-acre property at 291 Tinker St. on Friday, Aug. 30, just five days before a court-ordered auction of the Ulster County site would have been held. Vann, a biologist, sold the Organix baby food company she created nearly three decades ago to the Hero Group in 2008. The businesses on the property indicate they want to remain there.
