Swimming spots difficult to find this summer

The Zoom Flume Water Park in East Durham announced June 8 it will not open this year due to coronavirus. "All purchased Season Passes... will automatically be extended for use through the 2021 season," the business posted, also announcing non-specific expansion plans. The Daily Freeman reports that the Town of Woodstock is having a difficult time keeping people away from the popular Big Deep and Little Deep swimming holes this summer. “The 'No Parking' signs that we put up are not enforceable unless we do a local law, which takes a good six to eight weeks,” Woodstock Supervisor Bill McKenna said. “The part of the COVID I was concerned about was having to send the maintenance guys down there to clean up other people’s garbage,” he said. “On a good day, that’s not a pleasant task.”
