From Wikipedia.[/caption]The Mid-Hudson Network reports in the The Daily Freeman that the Rip Van Winkle Bridge had a revenue increase of 2.56 percent from tolls for the first eight months of 2013, but a two percent decreasing in crossings. In fact, all five Hudson River bridges made more money with fewer crossings. "The combination of higher toll revenue and lower traffic volume suggests increased bridge usage by vehicles that pay higher tolls, such as large trucks," according to the paper. There were 4.5 million crossings on the bridge that links Greenport and Catskill through August. Read the full story on the redesigned website of The Daily Freeman.
