Local mountains will be plenty cold this weekend, and the skies may be filled with flakes too, according to the National Weather Service. If snow is not falling from the sky, the resorts will surely be making lots of their own, as temperatures are not expected to get above freezing this week. Windham Mountain already has 8"-40" on 66 acres with 18 trails and 5 lifts. On Sunday 300 Santas will go sliding down Windham Mountain in a holiday tradition. Hunter Mountain has 4"-48" of snow on its 21 open trails with three lifts running. Catamount Ski in Hillsdale has 14 of 33 trails open, with 12-24" of snow.
