GE's PCBs lower mink populations along the Hudson River

Nov 03, 2018 12:15 am
The Daily Freeman reports that a new study from the Hudson River Natural Resource Trustees shows that the mink population is 40 percent less near the Hudson River compared to the Mohawk River. The difference? General Electric dumped polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, into upper Hudson River from the 1940s until 1977. While GE cleaned up some of those PCBs recently, scientists say the pollution will last for decades. GE called the study "limited." Read the full story in The Daily Freeman.
