What you need to know for Primary Day 2017

Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential Tue., Sep. 12, is primary day across New York. Local polls open at noon and close at 9 p.m. There are primaries in Durham, Hudson, New Baltimore, Greenport and Claverack. In Durham, Republicans have races for town supervisor and town board. In New Baltimore, the Independence party has a town board race. In Hudson, Democrats and Independence Party members will vote for Common Council President. Democrats in Hudson also have two supervisor elections, and several Common Council seats are up for grabs. There are write-in Independence Party primaries in Hudson and Clermont. And the incumbent Greenport Town Supervisor is being challenged on the Independence line, forcing a primary in that race.
