Mar 16, 2020 2:45 pm
Columbia County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Murell Mon., Mar. 16, declared a local state of emergency, effective at noon, Monday, through 12 p.m., April 15. The order declared that all social, community, and public events or gatherings, including Columbia County-sponsored events, with an anticipated attendance of 50 or more people must be canceled or postponed. The board has canceled its committee meetings for the month of March, with the exception of [point] 1 and Finance, which will be held March 26. The county Department of Motor Vehicles, located in Hudson, is open for business as usual. According to county Clerk Holly Tanner the office remains open and will remain open. Updated information is available by calling 518.828.3339. Also Monday, Hudson Mayor Kamal Johnson issued an emergency declaration, limiting the public use of administrative buildings including City Hall, while directing the city’s administrative offices to remain fully operational, with limited public access. The Clerk’s Office and the Code Enforcement and Building Department will see visitors by appointment only. All non-essential city meetings will be postponed — only Common Council will meet as scheduled, but the public will not be permitted to attend. The meetings will be live streamed and a transcript will be made available on the city website.
