Officials praise Central Hudson for storm work

Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman the Moreland Commission at SUNY New Paltz heard testimony Tues., Jan. 29, from various officials attesting to the work Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. did before, during and after Superstorm Sandy. Arthur Snyder, the Ulster County emergency management director praised the utility for a variety of tasks, including the implementation of a previously agreed-upon staff plan to restore electrical outages and efforts to keep the public and government officials informed. Ronald Hicks, Dutchess County’s commissioner of strategic planning and development, said before the storm became a concern to the general public, Central Hudson staff had already briefed the county staff on preparations underway.
