Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. From WGDR, Goddard College Plainfield, VT. wgdr.org/. We focus exclusively on one artist from Mali today: Oumou Sangare. In 2017 she released an album titled "Mogoya" and in 2020 she re-recorded the songs from that album in a purely unplugged set and released the album: "Acoustic". We compare the two different versions of the songs from those recordings in this show.
