The Albany Business Review reports that net earnings per cow for dairy farms in our region rose $782 per cow last year, according to the Farm Credit’s Northeast Dairy Farm Summary report. In 2009, by comparison, cows in New York, New Jersey, and New England were costing farmers $386 each, rather then earning them money.
