WGXC Ski Report: Arctic Vortex 2

The second so-called "Arctic Vortex" has descended on the Eastern United States, bringing bitter cold temperatures to the mountain ski resorts. Saturday, the National Weather Services predicts a warm-up to the upper 20s, with snow predicted. At Catamount Ski in Hillsdale, 19 of 34 trails and four of six lifts are running over 18-36" of snow. At Windham Mountain, there are 23 groomed trails open, with six lifts running over 10-60" of snow. Hunter Mountain has 42 trails open, with six lifts running over 14-62" of snow. Hunter hosts a fundraiser to benefit visually impaired skier and Paralympic hopeful Staci Mannella of the Windham Mountain Adaptive Sports Foundation race team Sat., Jan. 25 at 9:30 a.m. Click here to listen to an audio version of this report.
