Concert boat won't be in Kingston this year
Nov 10, 2017 2:11 pm
Paul Kirby reports in The Daily Freeman that the floating concert hall some Kingston residents are trying to lure to their town won't be setting sail for the Hudson River until spring, at least. A Florida group is now competing to bring the The Point Counterpoint II boat to Lake Okeechobee. The 195-foot-long boat, currently docked on the Illinois River in Ottawa, Ill., hosts classical music concerts and could host art exhibits and other events in colder months. The sale price was initially $2 million, and Kingston-based composer Peter Wetzler has lined up one New York City investment firm, but needs to raise more money. The vessel would be docked on the Rondout Creek or the Hudson River if the sale goes through. Read the full story in The Daily Freeman.
