Jim Planck writes in The Daily Mail the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation announced Wed., Aug. 15, its approval of a $1.725 million loan to the Village of Hunter for the completion of its back-up drinking water supply and delivery system. The village can now use Dolans Lake, a village-owned impoundment fed by an intake channel from Schoharie Creek, as its back-up supply. The funding will also help with the planning and construction of an infiltration gallery at the lake, including mains between the lake and the plant, along with additional filtration capacity. "By relying on the improved filtration system and the increased source capacity from Dolans Lake, the residents of Hunter will be provided with a back-up supply of drinking water that is clean and reliable,” said EFC President Matthew Driscoll.
