Voting begins this fall on Oct. 28 and ends on Nov. 7, with a statewide judge contest and a few county judge races, and many town and village votes. There are four names on the ballot for three State Supreme Court Justice seats in the 3rd Judicial District for Greene, Columbia, and Rensselaer County voters. Richard Rivera, Daniel C. Lynch, and Sherri J. Brooks-Morton are on the Democrat and Working Families party lines, and Dana Salazar is running as a Republican and Conservative. In Greene County, Democrats did not bother to run any candidates in the countywide races. Republican and Conservative candidate David M. Costanzo is up for County Judge, Family & Surrogate; Republican and Conservative Peter J. Kusminsky is running unopposed for reelection as Sheriff; Republican and Conservative Marilyn Farrell is unopposed to county clerk; and Republicans and Conservatives Gerard Buckley and Breanna M. Lennon are up for the two County Coroner seats. Voting from Oct. 28 until Nov. 6 is only at the Greene County Office Building on the 4th Floor in Suite 430, while on Tuesday, November 7, all the local precincts are open for voting. In Columbia County, there are elections for District Attorney, two county judge seats, and treasurer and coroner. Democrat Christopher Liberati-Conant faces off against Ryan M. Carty, who is on the Republican and Conservative lines. Brian Joseph Herman and Michael C. Howard are on the Democrat and Working Families party lines for two county judge seats against Robert "Bob" Gibson and Joyce Crawford on the Republican and Conservative party lines. Republican and Conservative Paul "PJ" Keeler is unopposed for treasurer, and Republican and Conservative Kevin Marchetto is against Democrat Russell M. Gonzales for Columbia County Coroner. Voting from Oct. 28 until Nov. 5 in Columbia County is being held at the Columbia County Office Building at 401 State Street in Hudson, and at the Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building, 3211 Church St. in Valatie.
