Cyclists urge Cuomo to fund bike lanes

Rick Karlin is reporting at Capitol Confidential using a bike bearing saddlebags that contained more than 1,300 postcards, a group of cycling enthusiasts and environmentalists visited Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s office Tues., Jan. 14, urging him to put money in his upcoming state budget proposal for improvements such as bike lanes. A representative of the Tri-State Transportation Campaign said federal cutbacks have left the state with less money for items like dedicated bike lanes as well funding for pedestrian byways.
