Tuesday is Primary Day in New York

WNYT-Albany is reporting Tue., June 23, is primary day in New York and in-person voting is allowed. In addition to the Democratic Presidential Primary, there are two big races in the Capital Region. In Columbia and Greene counties, Ola Hawatmeh and Kyle Van De Water will face off in a Republican primary in the 19th Congressional District. The winner of that race will challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado in November. And Democratic candidates David Soares and Matt Toporowski are in a primary for the Democratic line in the race for Albany County District Attorney. Soares has held the job since 2005. The Boards of Elections in Columbia and Greene counties are advising voters that many polling places will be closed Tuesday due to the coronavirus pandemic, and voters will have to vote at alternative locations.
