Ulster tops region in job gains
Mid-Hudson News is reporting that Ulster County had the highest new job rate in the Mid-Hudson Region, for the 12-month period ending in August, according to information released Thu., Sept. 15, by the state Department of Labor. During that period Ulster reported a 3.4 [three point four] percent increase in private sector employment. Columbia County saw jobs increase by .6 [point six] percent, but in Greene County the number of jobs fell by .9 [point nine] percent. Region-wide employment grew by 1.7 [one point seven] percent, or 13,000 jobs, during the same 12 months.
