It’s official: Despite best efforts, there’s no way host Rob Saffer is going to finish showcasing music made in 2019, in 2019. There’s just too much good stuff! So we’ll continue apace, playing music from 2019, and hopefully won’t take up too much of 2020 to get through it. This broadcast will focus on 2019 recordings by Stephanie Richards, Rob Mazurek, Mark Turner, Gebhard Ullmann, Jason Palmer, Paul Bley, Rafiq Bhatia, Eric Alexander, Nathan Bowles, Aaron Novik, Ben LeMar Gay, NuNairobi and more, with a few Christmas Eve and Hanukkah treats tossed in.

After the local news at noon, “Overlooked” is a show focusing on overlooked and under-heard jazz, improvisational, and other fringe music, from early roots to contemporary experiments, a mix of familiar to rare, classic to weird.
