The Daily Freeman reports that Republican U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney said Feb. 21 that “many” people who commit mass murder are Democrats. Tenney, who represents an area of New York west of the WGXC listening area, was on Albany's Talk 1300 radio station on a discussion about calls for stricter gun control after the Feb. 14 school shooting in Florida. Tenney said she found it “interesting” that “so many” of the people who commit mass murders “end up being Democrats.” Geoff Berman, Executive Director of the New York State Democratic Committee responded saying, “We knew Rep. Tenney was in the back pocket of the NRA. What we didn’t know was her willingness to embarrass herself in order to placate one of her biggest political donors."
